The Residential Advocate is a great role for anyone who has worked in human or social services, and finds meaning in advocating for others. The candidate will work fully onsite. Monday - Friday 12:00 midnight - 8:00 am. Worked overnight hours include a \$1.00 per hour shift differential. Responsibilities include: Conduct initial intake interviews to admit families to the shelter as necessary Provide crisis counseling, follow-up interviews, and referrals; assist Case Managers with re-housing plans Maintain clear, timely, and thorough written documentation in communication logs and participant files Manage daily schedule to facilitate resident participation and the upkeep of community and housekeeping responsibilities; supervise recreational, educational, and cultural activities Facilitate workshops and groups in a manner that is organized and welcoming Oversee supply levels of food and household items Maintain the facility and property (including, but not limited to, dusting, organizing, laundry, loading/unloading inventory, shoveling, sweeping, mopping) Assess and report serious incidents according to procedures Requirements include: 1 year of equivalent experience in a human services, housing, or related role; a combination of experience plus a high school diploma (or equivalent) may be a substitute Preference for experience in counseling or working with those that are unhoused Experience with Microsoft Office applications, and comfort learning new technologies Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to serve diverse populations Responsive crisis-management ability in a sometimes high-stress environment while employing solid decision-making skills Must be able to navigate multiple flights of stairs Bilingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal skills preferred but not required CORI/SORI Benefits include: Generous paid time-off \| 12+ holidays annually \| Health, dental, and vision insurance options \| Educational assistance \| Medical Reimbursement Account \| Dependent Care Account \| 403(b) retirement plan with employer match \| Life insurance \| Short-term and long-term disability insurance \| Transportation benefits \| Employee Assistance Program \| Annual staff picnic!
