Job Overview:

The Lead Technologist of the Mammography department is responsible for performing advanced radiographic procedures within the scope defined by regulatory and departmental standards. Supervises Mammography Technologists. Makes recommendations regarding the ongoing performance evaluations of supervised staff and resulting action (i.e rewards, disciplines, discharges, etc.) Is responsible for scheduling coverage for the hours of operation, ensuring supplies are ordered timely, and such issue as safety, employee orientation, employee training, etc. are properly handled. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Current valid certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for radiography and mammography and holds a valid New Jersey state license.

  • Is compliant in maintaining current continuing education credits as required by the FDA/MQSA and ACR.

  • Three to five years prior radiology/diagnostic imaging/mammography office experience.

  • PC and CRT experience.

  • Supervisor experience.

  • Outpatient billing experience.

  • BLS.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates USA and imaging technologists workflow and activities, maintaining an efficient and professional environment.

  • Coordinates and follows up on equipment service request and repairs. Responds to and schedules service requests. Work with Director and Medical Director to identify new equipment and related software needs.

  • Develops and updates imaging guidelines to ensure consistent and timely imaging technologist practices. Reinforces these guidelines with staff, keeping them current of all program changes.

  • Monitors and follows up on equipment Quality Control Policies and Procedures. Serves as member of Breast Center Team responsible for compliance with MQSA and ACR regulations. Seeks assistance, advice when needed to maintain daily operations of Breast Center and/or resolves system barriers.

  • Supports Director and department efforts to ensure compliance with MMC/JMWCBC Policies and Procedure and CMS/NJDOHSS regulatory and standards requirement. Participates in writing departmental procedures and guidelines.
