JOB SUMMARY

The Operations Trainer schedules, delivers, and maintains training sessions effectively to support trainee learning and contributing to the overall success of the organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with Manufacturing and Repair Station Management to coordinate employee scheduling for the upkeep of initial and recurrent certifications including but not limited to IPC and J-STD training.

  • Present training content in a clear, engaging manner, adhering to established lesson plans utilizing various instructional techniques, such as lectures, demonstrations, and group activities, to facilitate learning.

  • Collaborate closely with Operations and Training staff to create and enhance training materials of limited and defined scope, prioritizing quality, safety, and productivity.

  • Encourage active participation and interaction among trainees to reinforce learning objectives.

  • Solicit feedback from trainees on the training session, including strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. Actively listen to trainee feedback and incorporate constructive suggestions into future training sessions.

  • Assist with identification of training needs across the Operations organization, develop basic curriculum based on needs assessment (i.e., new technology, new products, and performance gaps) keeping consistent with Astronics internal documentation, process specifications and procedures

  • Obtain and maintain Certified IPC Trainer certification, revise curriculum based on changes to industry standards.

  • Ensure the training room is arranged appropriately, including seating arrangements, equipment setup, and visual aids that fosters a positive learning environment.

  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance to maintain accurate records of training attendance, participant feedback, and any notable observations during training sessions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma required; technical degree preferred

  • Demonstrates moderate familiarity (typically 3+ years of direct experience in the essential functions of the position)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.

  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.

Base salary range is $61,229 - $91,843 per year . Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
